In 2008, artist Christa Brothers opened the doors to an upscale art gallery just outside 1604 at the corner of Hardy Oak Boulevard and Proton Road. The space is contemporary, inviting, and designed by an artist for artists, showcasing some of the finest in Texas.
Enjoy regular gallery tours every Saturday. Guests can also attend events and fundraisers hosted by the gallery, as well as monthly art openings with live jazz and refreshments. Opened in June, 2009, David Shelton Gallery is the newest contemporary art space in San Antonio. David Shelton spent twenty years in marketing, advertising, and branding, and has represented artists for five years. The Painted Plate is a pottery studio where you create one-of-a-kind masterpieces. You select the pottery, design it, paint it, and they glaze it and fire it up!
